DERIC JACKSON, LICSW

He/Him/His

I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) and hold a Master’s degree from the University of St. Thomas and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois.

I have experience providing services to children and youth in residential settings and in foster care and working with adults in a correctional setting.  I have facilitated a domestic violence group for men and am a facilitator and coach of Achieving Change Through Value-Based Behavior (ACTV, based on the principles of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy).

In my work, I blend motivational interviewing, family systems, cognitive behavior theory, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), attachment and solution-focused theories to help clients navigate their struggles. I offer a client- centered, strength-based approach that honors and acknowledges my client’s life experience.

I aim to provide a safe, respectful, compassionate and collaborative space for adults and teens experiencing a variety of concerns such as: trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship struggles, and unwanted thoughts and negative beliefs. It is my goal to create a partnership with clients to help guide them through internal blocks. I firmly believe that people have the ability and willingness to create the change they are seeking.

Deric’s office hours are Mondays 5pm-7pm and Saturdays 9am - 11am
